Jacob Frye is the son and youngest child of Ethan and Cecily Frye, British Assassins who lived in the early 19th Century. His mother died during childbirth, and their grandmother raised them for a short period. At the age of six, Jacob and his twin sister Evie were taken under their father's wing and tutored in the art of the Assassins. Evie was always the more studious, but Jacob learned to resent their father's teaching, and spent his youth breaking into factories, snooping around their home town, and getting into trouble.

His strength and proficiency in armed and unarmed combat is well documented. He is not as intelligent as his sister, but he is far from stupid. With his quick wit and roguish good looks, Jacob easily makes friends, assisting them where he can while striving to free London from the grip of a gang known as the Blighters.
